We Are Excited, We Hope You Are Too!

The New Year of 2011 is off to a really good start.  We have already had a few donations come in on Project 2011.  We hope you will take the time to make a donation of $25.00 or more to help make Project 2011 a success.  If you cannot make a $25.00 donation a donation of any size will be very helpful.  Already we are receiving a number of requests for assistance with utility bills.  We want to be able to provide as much assistance as possible to members of the community, but our assistance is limited by the amount of donations we receive.  We hope you will volunteer to be a part of Tipton Cares this year.  We need volunteers to help us on the internet, we need volunteers to help us in the neighborhood where you live.  We have a great project for teenagers, ages 13 and up.  We also have a special project for Seniors.  Since I am getting closer to that age group, I hope Seniors is the right word to use.  We want to get the young folks involved with the mission of Tipton Cares and we want to use the valuable experience of those who are called Seniors.  To volunteer for any of our projects send an e-mail to: executivedirector@tiptoncares.org

Happy New Year!

Dear Friends of Tipton Cares,

Two days before Christmas we got a call about a single mom and her children that could not spend Christmas at home because they did not have electricity. We were able to step in and provide help. On Christmas Eve we got a call of a single mom and two children whose only heater had quit working. We were out at 4 pm on Christmas Eve buying and delivering a new electric heater. This is just a few of the stories we could share with you our Friends of Tipton Cares. We hope you have a great and Happy New Year! We hope you will join us in the New Year of 2011 in providing assistance to members of our community. Here is a sneak preview of one of our goals in 2011. We will be looking for 2011 Friends of Tipton Cares to make a donation of $25.00 or more during the upcoming year. We hope you will be one of the first in 2011 to make a donation to help us meet our goals. Thanks for your support and Happy New Year To Everyone!  Click on the Donate now button on the left side to make your donation.  Be sure to add Tipton Cares as a Friend on Facebook and MySpace.  If you want to be a volunteer in your community, or your church please let us know.  With your help 2011 will be the greatest year even for Tipton Cares!

Summer of 2010

Well folks it is summer in Tipton County, it is and has been very, very hot!  We want to say thanks to everyone and we mean everyone who has helped us in some small way after the flood.  Tipton Cares might not have survived beyond the flood if it had not been for the great community support.  I know I cannot name everyone who provided assistance, but let me name just a few.  First, we want to say thanks to Mayor Cole, the City of Munford and their employees for providing so many needed services during the days after the flood.  Thanks to County Executive, Jeff Huffman, and the County Commisioners for their support and help to make sure we were able to find a place to re-locate.  We must say thanks to Sheriff Chumley and his staff for helping us on some of the most difficult days.  The list is much longer and we want to say thanks to everyone who helped in some way to see that Tipton Cares would be able to once again provide assistance to families of Tipton County.  Don't forget we need you to volunteer for Tipton Cares in your church, in your community, or at your workplace.  We always need volunteers to help with Food Drives and with fundraising.  We have a wonderful easy fundraiser going on now.  Email us at tiptoncares@gmail.com and we will e-mail you a copy of this easy Fundraiser that can be done in your spare time.  Thanks everyone and Remember we are "Neighbors Helping Neighbors."

Tipton Cares Project 2010 (Phase 1)

The Tipton Cares Project 2010 (Phase 1) is now underway. We need 100 individuals or groups to contribute $20.10 to our cause. We have seen an increase in the number of requests for assistance this year. Here is a great way for our frends to help Tipton Cares. For every individual or group that contributes $20.10 or more to Tipton Cares we will list your name or the name of your group on our website. We hope that many of our friends will not only make this contribution, but will also challenge their friends to contribute. We can only provide assistance to others when our friends and neighbors donate to the cause. Every time we hear of something bad happening in our world, it is a great tragedy. We have hungry and needy people right here in Tipton County. Please make your donation today while you are thinking about Tipton Cares. Donate online by going to our cause, "Friends of Tipton Cares." Or mail your donation to Tipton Cares at P.O. Box 745 Atoka, TN 38004. Who will be first to donate to set an example for others? These donations of $20.10 will add up quickly, so please help your local community by making your donation as soon as possible.

Will You Volunteer For 4 Hours?

How many times have we thought about being a volunteer and just never made the call or sent the e-mail to make ourselves available? Sure it has happened to all of us. The children will be going back to school and you will have a little extra time on your hands. We are looking for volunteers who will spend a few hours contacting their friends on behalf of Tipton Cares. Contact us today by e-mail or call us at 901-840-2273. We have some volunteer opportunities for every neighborhood. Volunteer today! It is much less painful than a root canal.
